• No income or wealth tax: Residents of Monaco do not pay income tax (except French citizens).

• There is also no wealth tax, no housing tax, and no property tax.

• Corporate tax: Companies based in Monaco do not pay corporate tax on local activities. However, a 25% tax applies if more than 25% of their turnover is generated abroad. New companies benefit from gradual tax reductions during their first five years.

• VAT: Value-added tax is 20%, the same as in France, and represents the main source of public revenue. Customs duties and excise taxes apply to certain goods, such as alcohol, tobacco, and fuel.
